More and more reports are pointing to an August announcement for Nvidia’s next-generation GeForce lineup. Now, a new report is reaffirming that the launch for GeForce GTX 1180 is indeed taking place next month.

DigiTimes is reporting Nvidia’s plan to release GeForce GTX 1180 at the end of August. It means that we should expect to see a GeForce event take place sometime in August. But in a traditional fashion, GTX 1180 will not be the only graphics card in the lineup. Its sibling the GTX 1170 will share the spotlight.

The report states that GTX 1170 will target a September launch. It is similar to what Nvidia did with GTX 10 series – the GTX 1070 arrived weeks later. Then later in October, Nvidia will fill the midrange gap with the GTX 1060.

Just this week we learned that GTX 1180 will be based on Volta architecture – unlike reports that claim Turing or Ampere. HWinfo’s next update will add support for GV104 and GV102. The former is set to power the GeForce GTX 1180 and GTX 1170.

The report also confirms the GeForce lineup will be manufactured using TSMC’s 12nm process. It should come as no surprise as Nvidia’s GV100 GPU is manufactured using the same process. Interestingly, it also states Nvidia will shift to TSMC’s 7nm process with a GPU set to release at the end of 2018.
