Word on the rumor mill is that we’ll be seeing three brand new iPhones this September. The long running rumor stems from analyst Ming Chi Kuo. It states that Apple’s 2018 iPhones lineup will include: a 5.8” OLED model, a 6.5” OLED model, and a 6.1” LCD model.

This week, Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty is reporting that the 6.1” iPhone is set to release in October. The delay is due to issues related to the LCD display. Apple is facing LED backlight issue, which in turn is causing delay in mass production.

Apple seems to have improved the situation and the production delay is reportedly down from six weeks.

The good news is that the iPhone X successors are on track for a September release. The 5.8” and 6.5” iPhones will feature OLED displays, no doubt improved from its predecessor. Apple is expected to retail the 5.8” cheaper than iPhone X’s introductory price. There is also rumor that iPhone X will cease production soon, or perhaps when its successors are announced.

Not much is known about the 6.1” LCD-based iPhone. The phone will sport the same notch display with slightly thicker bezels. It is due to the fact that Apple cannot bend the LCD display from near the edges to achieve the same screen-to-body ratio as the OLED variants.

It will have a single-lens camera and no 3D Touch. The exclusion of 3D Touch is to meet the phone’s price which is expected to sit between $700 – $750.
