Apple Might Introduce New iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 Models in Germany
Apple was ordered by a German court to stop sale of certain iPhone models after Qualcomm won the patent battle. The patent concerned the envelope tracking chip inside iPhone models which violated patent, according to Qualcomm.
The Cupertino company decided to stop sale of iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X officially, but they might be making a return soon. Winfuture.de is reporting that Apple has informed distributors in China of its plan to reintroduce iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 models.
These new versions will have internal changes, specifically the envelope tracking chip and software, that will allow Apple to continue selling the products. They will also carry new model numbers; MN482ZD / A for iPhone 7 Plus 128GB Black and MQ6K2ZD / A for iPhone 8 64GB Space Grey. German distributors reportedly have the full list of model numbers. The new models are said to be out in the coming weeks.
The reason why iPhone X is not included in the report is because Apple has discontinued manufacturing iPhone X. The iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR were not affected by the lawsuit.
