Just as Huawei appeared to take the spotlight away from Samsung, the South-Korean giant has turned the tables around. The Galaxy A8s will be unveiled at an event on December 10.

You’ll recall the Galaxy A8s, the same phone that was teased at an event in China last month. The smartphone seemed to sport a punch-hole display. This is a new approach to smartphone displays where a physical hole accommodates the front-camera. This approach would allow manufacturers to completely forgo the notch.

Huawei is following in the same footsteps. As we reported earlier, the Huawei Nova 4 is second in line to feature the same approach. It appeared at the time that the Chinese manufacturer would beat Samsung to the market, but Huawei has thus far not announced any details.

It’s rumored that Samsung’s next flagship will feature the same hole-design. It is expect that Samsung will announce three new smartphones in the S10 lineup: Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S10+.

Samsung is toying with a few design concepts. It announced four design approaches last month, where it also introduced the foldable Galaxy smartphone. The Infinity-V display features a V-shaped notch, Infinity-U hangs a teardrop notch, Infinity-O which is the display in discussion here, and a true full-screen display that houses all the sensors underneath display.
