Fortnite has been a huge success. It’s a cultural phenomenon now. Don’t believe us? Almost every other kid on your block is probably playing it. There over 200 million players enjoying the free-to-play Battle Royale game on various devices.

Its success can be measured by the tower of cash it’s no doubt earning Epic Games every month. If TechCrunch’s source is to be believed, Epic Games earned $3 billion in profit, thanks to Fortnite. The cultural phenomenon is driving Epic’s success to new heights. Just recently, Epic Games was valued at $15 billion. A large part of it was due to Fortnite’s success.

Although $3 billion the figure could not be confirmed by Epic, we have no trouble believing. In fact, Fortnite’s success helped Epic Games realize its vision of a digital store front that rivals Steam Store. The developer announced its plan last month where it also revealed its strategy to take Steam by providing publishers a higher profit share.
