The long-running rumor is that Apple will introduce three new iPhones for 2018. Two of them are direct successors to the iPhone X: a 5.8” model and a super-sized 6.5” model, popularly known as the iPhone X Plus. Accompanying them will be a third “cheaper” option. Unlike the other two models, the cheaper option will feature an LCD display instead.

iOS 12 Beta 5 is currently in the hands of developers. One keen developer has unearthered the new iPhone X ‘Plus’ in PassKitUIFoundation. The icongraphy confirms the super-sized model is indeed real.

So, how do we know it’s the new iPhone X?

Because the icon for iPhone X exists alongside this new taller iPhone. Interestingly, the successor seems to sport slightly thinner bezels.

This isn’t the first time Apple’s software has given away tightly-kept secrets. Homepod devkit last year gave away the icon for iPhone X, confirming then the new notch design.

Apple’s new iPhones are just a month away from being official. A recent report claimed that the LCD-based iPhone will miss the September launch. The reported cited manufacturing setbacks concerning the LCD display.
